Modelling the impact of climate change on pilot basins of Central Italy (in the area managed by the District Basin Authority of the Central Apennines)

Agreement between public authorities covered by the general law on administrative procedure (art. 15, Law of 7 August1990, no. 241), project funded by the District Basin Authority of the Central Apennines

Partners: CNR-IRPI; CNR-IRSA

Description:

The project activities concern the development of studies and research aimed at the application on pilot basins of the Central Apennine District of models of climate change impact on water supply systems. Specifically, the activities to be performed are articulated in four Working Packages:

  • WP1: climate change scenarios development;
  • WP2: estimation of the impact of climate change on inflows entering into artificial reservoirs in the areas of interest;
  • WP3: estimation of water needs in relation to climate change, with particular reference to irrigation needs;
  • WP4: Climate change impact assessment on multi-resource, multi-users water supply systems.

The main aim of the project is developing new techniques for the assessment of climate change impacts on water supply systems located in the area in charge of the District Basin Authority of the Central Apennines management.
